Grind for Life launches Bi-Coastal attack to Crush Cancer!
Wednesday, June 26th, 2010

Cancer is a horrible and relentless disease. The fine folks at Grind for Life know this all to well and therefore launched a Bi -Coastal attack over the weekend to kick some Cancer Butt! Heres how we roll...

The attack started Saturday A.M. in Pacific Beach CA teamed up with the PB Scavenger Hunt Crew (now in its fifth year). The GFL team setup shop at Typhoon Saloon for the day doing our usual meet and greet to educate folks about what we do as well as have fun in the process! Thanks to Savannah,Melanie and Robin for truckinʼ down from the OC to assist in the days festivities. Due to the generosity of the participating teams and sponsors we were able to raise over 3K! Many thanks to Yusef Hussainy and the PB Scavenger Hunt Crew for again including us in a very fun day!!..

For some folks this would be enough combat for one weekend.....at GFL WE DONʼT THINK SO!

Next Battle attack would be that very same night in Boston MA at the Boston Garden for the ALLI Sports/DEW TOUR and ISF Skateboard World Championships. Thanks to our friends and sponsor Bern Unlimited, ALLISports and local watering hole DJʼs at the Garden GFL was able to host the DEW Tour after party! With many of the Athletes in attendance including GFL Board member and Boston native Andy Macdonald, Bucky Lasek, Ryan Sheckler, Travis Pastrana and many more the party scene and athlete attendance surely put a smack down “Boston style” on Cancer. With over 3K raised and a good time had you can be sure Cancer ran from that battle! ..heard there was a Paul Revere sighting as well and you know heʼs GFL Team Rider material!

Now Sundays are for rest right?..WRONG!..

The GFL Team including Board Members Paul Wisniewski and Chris Conway loaded up the GFL Mobile along with GFL Founder Mike Rogers and hit the road early to setup at the SLAM event at the Volcom Costa Mesa skatepark. The SLAM event was a fantastic family style skate event that lasted all day and featured skate comps, demos, live music and a interactive vendor village. The GFL booth was busy all day with the “spin the wheel” spinninʼ and the kids gettinʼ swag. Once again Grind for Life put another hurting on Cancer while seeing some old friends and making new ones too. Awesome job SLAM organizers for a great event and fantastic day! With more money raised, a ton of smiles, stoked kids and a beautiful day in the park GFL once again put the “FUN” in FUNdraising!

So you see folks the GFL vs. Cancer Battle continues however Cancer will never break the spirits and support of the GFL Army!..many thanks to:

New GreenIssue’s “On The Spot”
Thursday, May 6th, 2010

This is GreenIssue’s first “On The Spot” and we are proud that it features our good friend Mike Rogers (founder of Grind for Life.) On The Spot is, just that, catching up with people on the spot. We caught up with Mike at the Monster / DC ramp and he shares a little insight on the DC x GFL shoe. Didn’t know there was a DC x GFL shoe, well now you do. Go pick up a pair and help people with cancer. Ask your local shop for them, contact DC or Grind for Life & ask them where they are available.

This is what Clash at Clairemont is all about.
Friday, March 26th, 2010

Meet Ben. When Ben was in 1st grade he was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. He beat the odds and beat his cancer. Then he designed a video game that cancer patients can play to help them visualize battling their disease. Ben is now 15-years-old and is all about helping others fight their battles with cancer--just like Grind for Life and Clash at Clairemont. That's why Ben and his family and friends will be on hand this weekend volunteering all day at Clash. Thanks Ben. See you Saturday and we'll skate and destroy cancer together!

We are Team Elias!
Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

We are Team Elias and our son has A.L.L. type T (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Type T) diagnosed in 2007. He was sick for months and we were worried to say the least. One day a package came in the mail from G.F.L. and had some gifts and a skateboard. If it weren't for that I'm not sure if this family would have had the turn around it did. We used ... See Morethe funds for turbos medications and travel expenses. Then he saw the GFL shirts and board. Turbo Lite up like the sun and the rest is history. Hes now back on his board and is in full remission, not to mention he eat, sleeps and lives for GRIND FOR LIFE.

grind for life

I Feel I owe My sons Life to GOD first then the doctors and Last Grind For Life for Putting the Spark back in My sons eyes, Which was totally gone till he saw that package from GFL, He said look Dad I have my first sponsor..I cried like a baby when he said that, I knew I had my Son back!!

Mike and Jill You are the Beez Kneez and will have a very special place in this families hearts forever!. PS I cried this whole letter now I have to dry out my keyboard. I know its long, use what you can but I cant make it any shorter than this, without leaving something out. I want the world to know without companies like Grind For Life My son might not have made it through all the treatment he received. every time he goes for treatment all he talks about is riding FOR GRIND FOR LIFE and I'm positive that's what is pushing this little man past this horrible ordeal.

Thank you again Grind For Life!!!
LOVE and MUCH RESPECT Turbos DAD, Buddy1 Leg
