Whole Foods Market Winter Park Donates
More Than $3,300 to Help People with Cancer
5% Day Benefits Local Non-Profit, Grind for Life
Orlando, FL (May 27, 2009) –

On Sunday, April 26, Whole Foods Market Winter Park hosted a 5% Day, donating more than $3,300 or five percent of the day’s net sales to
Grind for Life, a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide financial
assistance to cancer patients and their families when traveling long distances to doctors and hospitals.
While customers shopped for a cause they were treated to skateboarding demonstrations and a
meet and greet with Mike Rogers, Florida Skateboarding Hall of Fame 2009 Inductee and Grind for Life founder.
“We had a lot of fun at the store – skateboarding in the parking lot and talking with the customers. We even got in
the thick of things and bagged a few groceries, which totally took me back to high school,” says Mike Rogers, who
founded Grind for Life in 2003 after his second battle with sarcoma cancer.
